It's Super Sunday

There hasn't been football since the 23rd of January. Is that reason for anxiety today? In my case, the Pittsburgh Steelers, which are my all time favorite sports team play tonight. With days and hours of breaking down stats and information about the black and yellow along with the green and yellow, I have came up with what I believe is the strategy and structure of how Super Bowl 45 will turn out.

There are 3 keys to beating the Packers and they are: 1) sack Rodgers at least 4 times. 2) win the turnover margin. 3) have a Wide Receiver have at least 90 yards receiving.

Why are those the 3 keys? This is because in all of GB's losses in which Rodgers played the whole game (Don't count the Lions and Patriots loss, due to injury) A-Rod was tackled behind the line of scrimmage at minimum 4 times. The Packers more often than not finished -1 to -2 in the turnover margin during their losses this year. The Packers defense is hot, but during the season they have been beat deep. I think Rodgers can be sacked 4 times. I expect James Starks to fumble the ball once, and how can you not expect Mike Wallace to beat the Pack deep more than once! So my predictions for each quarter looks like this:

In the beginning of the game I expect the Packers to be nervous. I expect a drop from a WR that could have turned out to be a big play. I do have a strong belief that McCarthy is going to have some running plays. Green Bay is going to try and run it once, they will fail and then attack through the air. On the other side of the ball their defense will be beat for being to anxious. Look for Pitt to take advantage of that, but end up settling for a 28 yard field goal. I believe the first quarter will not provide much scoring as defenses will be sacking the QB's and even causing turnovers due to the different schemes the D coordinators drew up. This quarter is all about the battle of field position. And I'll say the score after one is 6-3 favoring the Steelers!

In the 2nd quarter the offenses will be able to pick a part defenses to make their way down the field. Everyone insists on the Steelers not being able to run the ball, I firmly disagree! Mendenhall is a monster, and Pitt will run away from B.J. Raji. This quarter has more scoring than quarter number one, as their is even a defensive touchdown! Troy Polamalu  comes up with a super catch and runs 30 yards for a pick 6. Green Bay still comes out throwing, this is their game-plan and they will stick to it. Rodgers will have confidence no matter what. He will literally take his team down the field and scramble into the end-zone with not much time left in the 1st half. Therefore, the halftime score will be 17-16 GB on top.
Some firrst half stats include: A-Rod throwing for 178 yards 2TD's and 1INT. Big Ben will have 96 passing yards! Mendenhall will have at least 55 rushing yards.

In the 3rd quarter the Steelers will have the ball first and go down the field and score a touchdown, thanks to a trick play from Hines Ward to Mike Wallace! Rodgers starts to find a hole in the Steelers defense, and that is the 4th corner, Anthony Madison. This means Jordy Nelson will come up with quite a few big plays. Either key 3rd down catches or +15 yard receptions. Either way, the Steelers will adjust by leaving their LB's in the game instead of going into the Dime package. Hopefully it won't be too late because after 3 quarters the Packers lead 31-23.

As we enter the last quarter of Super Bowl 45, the Packers realize they are just 15 minutes away from victory. They are in this situation thanks for Aaron Rodgers, however, they try and run the ball with Starks. The Packers want to milk clock as much as they can. This is when James Harrison causes Starks to fumble and Polamalu will recover the fumble! The Packers will have a lead, around 11 points. I just see Big Ben getting it done in crunch time. Within the last 2 minutes, Ben will be down 8 points and I believe he hits Hines Ward for the touchdown and Heath Miller with the game tying 2pt conversion. Hopefully, Pitt didn't score too quickly as Rodgers brings his team back, but Crosby will miss his 53 yard attempt to win the game as time expires.  That's right, were heading to Overtime at 34-34. Here your guess is as good as mine, but clearly you know I'm rooting for that Black and Yellow!
